Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Astro ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Astro is an AI-powered productivity assistant that connects to your existing tools — email, calendar, messaging apps, and more — to help you automate tasks and manage your workflow through natural language.

Astro is currently in beta. Features may change, and the Service is provided "as is" during this period.

3. How the AI Works

When you send a message to Astro, it is processed in multiple steps:

  • Intent classification — a lightweight AI model categorizes your request (research, writing, action, or simple question) to give you a more focused response. This runs before your main message is processed.
  • Main AI processing — your message and conversation context are sent to Anthropic's Claude API. The AI may make multiple tool calls (reading emails, searching the web, etc.) before responding.
  • Runaway protection — if a request triggers an unusually long AI processing loop (far beyond any normal task), it is automatically stopped. This is a failsafe against infinite loops, not a cap on complex requests. Multi-step tasks (research, multi-tool chains) always run to completion.

You acknowledge that each message you send may result in multiple API calls to Anthropic, and that each call is billed against your credit balance.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Astro. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate.

5. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use at hello@astrovision.app.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Astro for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations
  • Use Astro to send spam, phishing attempts, or harmful content
  • Use Astro to generate or distribute hate speech, harassment, threats, or content that promotes violence or self-harm
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or disrupt the Service
  • Use Astro to infringe the intellectual property rights of others
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Attempt to circumvent credit limits, safety filters, or cost guardrails

Astro has built-in safety filters that refuse requests involving hate speech, harassment, threats, violence, self-harm, or illegal activity. These filters cannot be disabled.

7. Third-Party Integrations

Astro connects to third-party services (Google, Slack, Notion, GitHub, etc.) on your behalf. Your use of those services remains subject to their own terms of service. Astro is not responsible for the availability or behavior of third-party services.

When you connect a third-party service, you authorize Astro to interact with it on your behalf only when you explicitly request it. You can revoke access at any time from the integrations settings or directly from the third-party service.

8. AI-Generated Content & Actions

Astro uses AI to generate responses and take actions. You acknowledge that:

  • AI responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated
  • You are responsible for reviewing any action Astro takes on your behalf — including emails sent, events created, messages posted, and documents written
  • Astro is a tool to assist you — final decisions are always yours
  • Some actions (sending emails, posting messages) are irreversible once executed. Astro will confirm before taking actions only when the recipient or content is completely unspecified.
  • Your messages are classified by AI before processing to improve response quality. This classification is automatic and you cannot opt out of it while using the Service.

9. Data & Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We encourage you to read it — it explains in plain language exactly what data we collect and how it is processed.

10. Credits & Usage Limits

Usage is subject to credit limits set on your account. You can view your current usage and limit at any time from the chat interface. When you approach your limit, Astro will display a warning banner. At 100% usage, new requests will be blocked until your limit is increased.

A runaway protection failsafe is also in place: if a request triggers an abnormally long AI processing loop, it is stopped automatically. Complex tasks — research, multi-step actions, document creation — are not affected and always run to completion.

We reserve the right to adjust credit limits, introduce pricing tiers, or modify credit policies. We will provide reasonable advance notice of any changes that affect your plan.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components. AI responses are not guaranteed to be accurate.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Astro and its founders shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, unauthorized access to your accounts, or actions taken by Astro on your behalf based on AI-generated decisions.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Astro operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
